Did you like TurboPascal? Did you like the yellow boxes? Read on, the Turbo is back …

Today DevCo announced that they will reintroduce Turbo-editions
of their products. So there will be a Turbo-Delphi
in the near future. There are no new “turbo features” to expect (compared
to the current Delphi 2006 editions), but I still love that “new”
idea.
Turbo Delphi will allow students, hobyists, and even
professionals to start projects with Pascal, C++ and C# at a very
reasonable price. And even better there will be totally free, so called
“Explorer” editions. See
target=_Blank>www.turboexplorer.com for more
information.
I believe these Turbo-editions will become an important part
in DevCo’s product portfolio. Of course is only one
part, the other end of it needs to be targeted at the
“hard-core” profesionalists, those who virtually buy any SKU at any price
if it has all the features they need to compete in the
market.

Where is the new company?
There is one (I believe big) downside though: Why didn’t they take the chance
to announce the new company along with that new product? If you read carefully
at the website above, then you will find that there is still a nasty “©2006,
Borland Software Corporation” at the bottom. Hopefully this is just an
oversight, and the company name which is printed in that red-black box (see the
image above) will become readable very soon
