Yesterday I found a suspicious directory on my system:

c:\program files\Google BAE

It had a BAE.dll and two batch files apparently for the purpose of (un-)installing that DLL:

regsvr32 /s BAE.dll

Some Anti-Virus programs mark this file as “bad”, and mention for example “Win32:Adware-gen [Adw]”.

Obviously that file is from Google, and some research on, well,  Google showed, that this is somehow a Browser Plugin. Apparently it has the purpose of redirecting to a Google page (filled with ads of course) if you enter a non-existing domain name in your browser.

I decided that I don’t need such a thing, so I removed it from my system:

  • delete c:\program files\Google BAE
  • delete all entries in the Registry that reference bae.dll

Warning: Backup your system first! I am not responsible for any damage caused by wrong Registry modifications.

Back to work.

    Well, if you are forgot to backup the file (i did !!!) you can download and install it from Dll Files website. But make sure its the correct version...
